Heavy cables — 1/0 through 4 AWG — are the arteries of any electrical system. Battery terminals, winch leads, and marine shore-power connections carry enough current that even a small increase in resistance from corrosion causes voltage drop, heat buildup, and eventually arc faults. The hot-melt adhesive liner in Helixal dual wall tubing encapsulates the entire terminal area, sealing against battery acid vapor, saltwater splash, and road grime. At these gauges the adhesive also provides meaningful strain relief, protecting the solder or crimp joint from mechanical stress.
