2 inch heat shrink tubing is the largest diameter in this line — a 50.8mm expanded bore that passes over heavy cable bundles, hose and pipe, and fully terminated 4/0 lug assemblies, recovering to roughly 16.9mm. That range is the whole point: one tube covers bundles that would otherwise need two or three sizes of 2:1. Unlike the single-wall 2 inch tube, this version is adhesive-lined, so it seals rather than merely covers — the hot-melt inner wall flows at 120°C into the gaps between conductors in a bundle, where water would otherwise track straight through. Use it on cable tray exits, outdoor enclosure penetrations, conduit terminations, and industrial cable assembly ends. UL 224, 600V, -55°C to +125°C, UV resistant. At this diameter a 10ft pack is genuinely a bulk quantity: most jobs consume two or three 8-inch pieces.

Full industrial dual-wall adhesive spec in a convenient 10ft pack. Same 600V rated, waterproof polyolefin construction as the large bulk rolls.
Sizing over a connector? The Wire Gauge row above is for bare conductor. Heat shrink must be sized to the widest point it passes over, so a crimped butt splice or lug barrel needs a larger tube than the wire alone — a 22–18 AWG splice barrel measures 5–6mm, a 16–14 AWG barrel 7–8mm, and a 12–10 AWG barrel 9–11mm. Measure the barrel, allow about 20% clearance, and confirm the recovered diameter is smaller than the narrowest thing the tube must grip. Use the size calculator.

Good quality and sealing heat shrink
Heat shrink works good. Makes a nice sealed wire connection. Better than pre-cut heat shrink — you can make whatever length you want.
Smart format for repair work
Great for keeping several sizes on hand without the bulk. Same quality as the large rolls — the adhesive seals perfectly every time.

2 inch (50.8mm) is the largest diameter in the line, recovering to roughly 16.9mm — a span that covers bundles which would otherwise need two or three sizes of 2:1. The word "short" stops meaning much up here. A piece at this diameter is 6 to 8 inches long, most jobs use two or three of them, and ten feet is therefore a genuine bulk quantity rather than a sample.
It is natural to compare roll lengths across sizes and conclude that ten feet is small. That comparison does not survive contact with the work. Ten feet of 3/32 inch is about sixty fine-gauge repairs; ten feet of 2 inch is roughly fifteen to twenty pieces at the length this diameter is actually cut to. Both are a year of their respective jobs.
What consumes 2 inch tubing is cable tray exits, outdoor enclosure penetrations, conduit terminations and industrial cable assembly ends. A large penetration takes one piece. A tray exit takes one. Even a substantial job rarely uses more than three, because at this diameter you are covering a small number of large things rather than a large number of small ones.
The adhesive is what makes those pieces worth fitting. A bundle at this size has deep valleys between its conductors, and a tube that merely covers them leaves channels running end to end — a path that can carry water into the enclosure the penetration was meant to protect. The hot-melt liner flows at 120°C and the recovering wall presses it into those valleys until the section is solid.
| Property | Figure | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Expanded diameter | 50.8mm (2") | Passes over heavy bundles, hose and pipe, terminated 4/0 assemblies |
| Recovered diameter | ≈16.9mm | A third — covers what two or three 2:1 sizes would need |
| Typical piece length | 6–8 in | One per penetration or tray exit |
| Pack yield | ≈15–20 pieces | Several jobs, and stock for the next call-out |
| Wall type | 3:1 dual wall, hot-melt lined | Fills the valleys between conductors instead of bridging them |
| Ratings | UL 224 Recognized, UV resistant | Suitable for outdoor and wet-location penetrations |
Let the tube overlap solid jacket at both ends. Adhesive needs a continuous surface to bond to, or the seal stops where the bundle opens out.
The recovered wall will not close onto it. Drop to the 1-1/2 inch pack, whose floor is about 12.7mm.
Where nothing needs sealing, the 2" 2:1 covers and protects at a lower cost per foot; the adhesive would be paying for a property the job never uses.
The 20ft roll is the cheaper way to hold it at that rate. The pack is for the few-times-a-year pattern this diameter usually has.
Rated 600V rms. On a 1000V circuit the conductor insulation carries the rating and this tubing seals over it rather than insulating.

Verify the expanded diameter is 20–30% larger than your wire or connector. The tubing must slide freely before heat is applied — if it drags, go one size up.
Cut to length and thread onto the wire or cable before making the splice or crimp. Overlap each terminal or connector end by at least 10mm for a proper seal.
The tubing starts shrinking at 100°C, but the adhesive liner only flows at 120°C — so keep the heat gun moving past the point where it looks shrunk. Start at the center and work outward to push air toward the ends. Adhesive will appear at the tube ends — that is your visual seal indicator.
The tubing should be tight and uniform with adhesive visible at both ends. No gaps, lifting, or cold spots. Pull-test the finished connection to confirm the adhesive bond.
Actual 2" tube at full expanded diameter (50.8mm) and after heat recovery. Use this as your fit reference before cutting.
Order a 10ft pack to verify the size fits your connector before committing to a large roll. Test fit, shrink one piece, then buy the bulk roll with confidence.
Keep a set of short rolls on the service van or boat. Enough for any repair job without hauling large rolls — one 10ft roll handles most splices.
For the same cost as one large roll, stock several different sizes in short packs. Covers more connector diameters for the same investment.
Seals individual connections on boat wiring, outdoor electrical, and trailer harnesses. Same waterproof adhesive seal as the large rolls — just 10ft.
Ideal for small-batch cable assembly and prototype builds where a full bulk roll would sit unused. Cost-effective for runs of fewer than 50 connections.
Custom automotive and motorcycle builds often need several sizes in small quantities. Short rolls let you match every connection without leftover material.
